It’s great to have Pisgan back open after they closed the taproom during the Covid pandemic.
I believe the new taproom was supposed to open late summer or early fall of 2024, but then Hurricane Helene significantly delayed that.
This is a favorite spot here with our friends and the kids friends (friend’s kids).
Last week, we flew kites in the big open field.
I’ve gone with the kids a couple of Wednesdays recently. We’ll sit a table and they’ll color and I’ll enjoy a pint.
This particular visit, they made a friend with another kid and had a big time running across the taproom.
At one point, an older lady stopped them and sort of scolded them for running around because of the danger of falling and hitting their heads.
If I may over-generalize and extrapolate this instance: It’s curious to me that we’re always looking back at “kids these days” and saying they do or do not do a certain thing, which is insufficient to the older folks making that claim.
And then they go about running, as kids always have, and we tell them “stop! you could hurt yourself!”
The world can be of two minds can’t it? One unaware of the other. Both equal in conviction.
For we both want the kids to “get off of their devices” and to protect them from the world.
Thankfully, the kids acknowledged the lady and then continued running. In the most respectful way they knew how 🙂
